Abstract. Acne is one of the most common problems that occur on the skin, especially facial skin, where in addition to medical treatment, it is also important to treat acne using Cleanser. This study aims to examine the appropriate cleanser formulation and examine the information about the frequency of use in the treatment of acne. This research is a study of journal literatures related to the cleanser formulations used and the frequency of use based on clinical evidence. From the literature search, we obtained some examples of cleanser formulations, as well as ingredients that can increase the effectiveness of preparations for treating acne. From a few journal, it can be concludes that the preparation will be more effective when it contains ingredients that act as acne-fighting or previously used as topical treatments, such as triclosan, salicylic acid, or even a combination of both. Active ingredients from nature, most have the ability as an antibacterial, especially against Propionibacterium acnes. Then, for the literatures that related to the frequency of cleanser usage, shows that the use of twice a day is more effective in reducing acne vulgaris lesions than once, three times, or four times a day so that twice a day frequency is a good recommendation for overcoming acne. Keywords: Acne Vulgaris, Acne Treatment, Soap, Cleanser. |
