Abstract. States that the statistical method developed in relation to the analysis of extreme events is the Extreme Value Theory (EVT), Coles (2001). This method is able to look at the characteristics of the extreme values because it focuses on the behavior of the tail (tail) distribution in determining the probability of the extreme values. The approach used to identify the movement of the extreme value of the EVT is Block Maxima from the Generalized E xtreme Value (GEV) distribution. The Block Maxima method is a method that identifies the extreme value based on the highest value of observation data that has been grouped based on a certain period. Taking this extreme sample data using Block Maxima following the Generalized Extreme Value (GEV) distribution including the Gumbell, Frechet, and Weibull distributions. Parameter estimation is calculated using the Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) and Linear Moments (L-Moments) approach. Comparison of the parameter estimation approach method was carried out with a simulation study applied to vibration data from the Prognostic and Health management, FEMTO ST-Instute. Bearing vibration data with block time period on Block Maxima is 10 seconds. After that, this study obtained the estimator bias value between the MLE and L-Moments methods, where the method with a smaller estimator bias value is an appropriate approach for large sample data. The data used are secondary data from bearing test experiments which produce run-to-failure data by taking into account the vibration of the bearings. In this study, bearings 4 and 6 were used in data set 2. In estimating parameters using MLE, an equation that is not closed form is obtained so that iteration of numerical analysis is carried out, while using L-Moments, a closed form equation is obtained. With the return period, the remaining service life for 2_4 horizontal bearings, 2_6 horizontal bearings, 2_6 vertical bearings, both with parameter estimation values using MLE or L-Moments is more than 10 years.Keywords: Extreme Value Theory, Generalized Extreme Value, Block Maxima, Bearing Vibration, Return Period. Abstrak. Metode statistika yang dikembangkan berkaitan dengan analisis kejadian ekstrim adalah Extreme Value Theory (EVT), Coles (2001). Metode ini dapat melihat karakteristik nilai ekstrimkarena berfokus pada perilaku ekor (tail) distribusi dalam menentukan probabilitas nilai-nilai ekstrimnya. Pendekatan yang digunakan untuk mengidentifikkasi pergerakan nilai ekstrim EVT yaitu Block Maxima dari distribusi Generalized Extreme Value (GEV). Metode Block Maxima merupakan metode yang mengidentifikasi nilai ekstrim berdasarkan nilai tertinggi data observasi yang sudah dikelompokkan berdasarkan periode tertentu. Pengambilan data sampel ekstrim ini menggunakan Block Maxima mengikuti distribusi Generalized Extreme Value (GEV) meliputi distribusi Gumbell, Frechet, dan Weibull. Estimasi Parameter dihitung dengan pendekatan Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) dan Linier Moments (L-Moments). Perbandingan metode pendekatan estimasi parameter dilakukan dengan studi simulasi yang diterapkan pada data vibrasi dari Prognostic and Health management, FEMTO ST-Instute. Data vibrasi bearing dengan blok periode waktu pada Block Maxima yaitu 10 detik. Setelah itu penelitian ini didapatkan nilai bias estimator anata metode MLE dan L-Moments, dimana metode dengan nilai bias estimator lebih kecil adalah metode pendekatan yang sesuai untuk data sampel besar. Data yang digunakan adalah data sekunder eksperimen uji bearing yang menghasilkan data run-to-failure dengan memperhatikan vibrasi dari bearing. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan bearing 4 dan 6 dalam data set 2. Dalam melakukan estimasi parameter menggunakan MLE didapatkan persamaan yang tidak closed form sehingga dilakukan analisis numerik dengan iterasi, sedangkan dengan menggunakan L-Moments didapatkan persamaan yang closed form. Dengan return period didapatkan sisa usia pakai untuk bearing 2_4 horizontal, bearing 2_6 horizontal, bearing 2_6 vertikal baik dengan nilai estimasi parameter menggunakan MLE atau L-Moments adalah lebih dari 10 tahun.Kata Kunci : Extreme Value Theory, Generalized Extreme Value, Block Maxima, Vibrasi Bearing, Return period.
