Abstract. Period. End of Sentence is a documentary by Rayka Zehtabchi. The film tells how gender biases that still occur in everyday life. Seen from this film which tells how the patriarchal system is still felt by women who feel the taboo stigma that still exist outside New Delhi, Hapur, India. Feels in this film illustrates how sadness they must go through? Their movement to break down, change everything was very clear when they started making pads and started selling it to several villages. This background, how the depiction of women is seen from the position of the subject-object and the position of the reader or audiens in the film Period. End of Sentence? The method used is the Sara Mills discourse analysis method. This research focuses more on the discourse of feminism. How women are displayed in text, pictures. Mills shows the subject-object position and the position of the reader. The critical paradigm with qualitative approach is the research method used. The method used for this research is dialogue and scenes in the film Period. End of Sentence. The results of the study concluded, how they experience a patriarchal system that is still very closely related to their environment, how they pass through their days with some obstacles due to access to women's freedom is very minimal, how to fight the biggest taboo stigma in the country, how their struggle to work to produce sanitary pads, educate menstruation and how to handle it with sanitary pads through socialization from village to village. Researchers found there was a treatment of oppression of women.Keywords: Feminism, Period. End of Sentence, Sara Mills, Menstruation.Abstrak. Period. End of Sentence merupakan film dokumenter karya Rayka Zehtabchi. Film tersebut menceritakan bagaimana bias gender yang masih terjadi pada kehidupan sehari-hari. Terlihat dari film ini yang menceritakan bagaimana sistem patriarki yang masih sangat terasa oleh kaum perempuan-perempuan yang merasakan stigma tabu yang masih ada di Luar New Delhi, Hapur, India. Terasa dalam film ini menggambarkan bagaimana kesesdihan-kesedihan yang mereka harus lalui? Gerakan mereka untuk mendobrak, merubah semuanya terlihat sangat jelas saat mereka mulai membuat pembalut dan mulai menjualnya ke beberapa desa. Latar belakang ini, bagaimana penggambaran perempuan terlihat dari posisi subjek-objek dan posisi pembaca atau penonton dalam film Period. End of Sentence? Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode analisis wacana Sara Mills. Penelitian ini lebih memfokuskan kepada wacana feminisme. Bagaimana perempuan ditampilkan dalam teks, gambar. Mills memperlihatkan posisi subjek-objek dan posisi pembaca. Paradigma kritis dengan opendekatan kualitatif yaitu metode penelitian yang digunakan. Yang digunakan untuk penelitian ini adalah dialog dan scene dalam film Period. End of Sentence. Hasil penelitian yang disimpulkan, bagaimana mereka mengalami sistem patriarki yang masih sangat lekat dengan lingkungannya, bagaimana mereka melewati hari-harinya dengan beberapa hambatan akibat akses kebebasan perempuan sangatlah minim, bagaimana melawan stigma tabu yang paling besar di negaranya, bagaimana perjuangan mereka bekerja menghasilkan pembalut, mengedukasi menstruasi dan bagaimana menanganinya dengan pembalut melewati sosialisasi dari desa ke desa. Peneliti menemukan terdapat perlakuan penindasan terhadap perempuan.Kata Kunci: Feminisme, Period. End of Sentence, Sara Mills, Menstruasi. |
