Abstract:
Rapid development of manufactur industry makes all companies need to
improve and enhance performance to achieve their goal in obtaining maximum
throughput. CV Suho Garmindo, as a garment company, got problem in obtaining
maximum throughput because of limited capacity. Therefor, CV Suho Garmindo
applying the Theory of Constraint (TOC) to their evaluation and improvement.
TOC method used in conducting improvement on CV. Suho Garmindo are
constraint identification, constraint exploitation, subordination other sources, and
constraint elevation. There are three kinds of products which are dresslim, koko,
and veil, found constraint capacity on sewing workstation. Constraint is exploited
by optimally utilizing sewing workstation using linear programming. The result of
linear programming calculation, that with capacity might have, CV Suho
Garmindo will obtain throughput maximum of Rp 17.999.840 if producing 265
pcs dresslim, 15,77 pcs koko, and 480 pcs hood.
The results are reviewed by the exploitation of scheduling approaches to
determine there is a new constraint or not. With the number of known production
and by applying First Come First Serve (FCFS) scheduling method, CV Suho
Garmindo faced new constraints i.e. scheduling system is not optimal and should
be improved to such constraint. The scheduling method is converted into
Campbell, Dudek, and Smith (CDS) method by applying batch process is not the
same as batch transfers. The result shows makespan value, 28589.54 minutes, is
bigger than 28080 minutes. The advice can be given are company needs to apply
an overtime or adds number of machines in the constraint source with reached
potential throughput 59.52% higher than the original throughput.
